Hand thrown ceramics for everyday rituals

Turning Point Ceramics is a small pottery studio centred around making, learning, and creating thoughtfully crafted pieces for the home.

I’m drawn to the quiet rhythm of working with clay - the focus of shaping something by hand, the patience of the process, and the way handmade objects slowly gather meaning through use.

The work I share is shaped through experimentation and learning by doing. Some pieces begin with a clear idea, while others emerge more organically through making. Everything is created with care and curiosity, with the hope that each piece will quietly become a valued part of daily life.

Alongside my finished work, I also share the story behind the making - the experiments, discoveries, and the gradual shaping of a thoughtful creative practice over time.

Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m Nicola - maker and mum of two, balancing my creative work alongside the rhythms of family life.

Pottery began as a way to slow down and take a moment away from the chaos! What keeps me returning is the process itself: the feeling of the clay in my hands, learning through repetition, experimenting with different forms and discovering how each change shapes a piece over time.

I’m interested in the connection between making and everyday life and I love to create objects that feel comforting to use while being quietly functional, and full of character.

Alongside my finished work, I share the ongoing journey of learning how to make, photograph, and present my work as I continue to build this creative practice - join me on socials to find out more!
